The largest unit in the CMXV series — which spans 12K, 18K, and 24K capacities — the CMXV24AVJUA is well suited for mid-size to larger residential spaces where consistent comfort delivery, R32 refrigerant compatibility, and long-term coil durability are priorities.

Multi-Position Installation Flexibility

The CMXV24AVJUA supports four installation orientations to adapt to attic, basement, closet, and crawl space mechanical configurations. Up-flow and horizontal left are supported without additional accessories. Down-flow and horizontal right require the separately purchased Downflow Kit (DFKE-02). This range of orientations gives installing contractors the flexibility to fit the unit into nearly any residential duct system layout without field fabrication or compromise.

ECM Variable-Speed Blower Motor

The electronically commutated motor (ECM) blower delivers constant CFM across a broad range of static pressure conditions independent of duct system characteristics. As static pressure increases — through restrictive duct runs, high-MERV filtration, or longer distribution networks — the ECM automatically adjusts motor speed to maintain target airflow where a conventional PSC motor would fall short. R32 Refrigerant Compatible

The CMXV24AVJUA is designed for R32 refrigerant systems, offering improved heat transfer efficiency relative to R410A and a substantially lower global warming potential. R32 compatibility aligns this installation with the ongoing industry transition away from higher-GWP refrigerants and positions the system for long-term regulatory compliance.

Daikin ONE Smart Thermostat Required

The CMXV24AVJUA is exclusively compatible with the Daikin ONE+ (DTST-CWBSA) and Daikin ONE Touch (DTST-TOU-A) smart thermostats, both sold separately and required to operate the system. It will not function with conventional, programmable, or third-party thermostats of any kind. Smart thermostat software version 3.9 or newer is required for compatibility. A wired thermostat connection is required; wireless-only configurations are not supported. This dedicated integration enables full bidirectional system communication for optimized variable-speed operation, efficiency monitoring, and smart home connectivity.

Electric Heat Kit Options

Heater kits are available in 3, 5, 8, and 10kW capacities for installations requiring supplemental or primary electric resistance heat. The 2-ton capacity combined with larger heat kit options makes the CMXV24AVJUA a practical all-electric solution for moderate heating climates where a heat pump condenser handles the primary heating load and the air handler's electric heat kit provides backup or emergency heat.
