Part of the CMXV series available in 12K, 18K, and 24K capacities, this 208/230V air handler is designed for residential applications where installation orientation options, consistent airflow delivery, and R32 refrigerant compatibility are required.

Multi-Position Installation Flexibility

The CMXV18AVJUA supports four installation orientations to fit a wide range of mechanical closet, attic, basement, and crawl space configurations. Up-flow and horizontal left orientations are supported without any additional accessories. Down-flow and horizontal right configurations require the separately purchased Downflow Kit (DFKE-02), giving contractors and installers the flexibility to adapt to nearly any residential duct layout.

ECM Variable-Speed Blower Motor

The electronically commutated motor (ECM) blower maintains constant CFM across a wide range of static pressure conditions regardless of duct system variations. Where conventional PSC motors lose airflow performance as static pressure rises, the ECM automatically compensates — delivering consistent air volume through tight duct runs, heavily filtered systems, or longer distribution networks. Daikin ONE Smart Thermostat Required

The CMXV18AVJUA operates exclusively with Daikin's proprietary smart thermostat platform. It is compatible only with the Daikin ONE+ (DTST-CWBSA) and Daikin ONE Touch (DTST-TOU-A) — both sold separately and required to complete the system. The unit will not function with conventional or third-party thermostats. Smart thermostat software version 3.9 or newer is required. A wired thermostat connection is required; wireless-only configurations are not supported. This closed integration enables full system-level communication for optimized variable-speed performance and efficiency reporting.

Electric Heat Kit Options

Heater kits are available in 3, 5, 8, and 10kW capacities for installations requiring supplemental or primary electric heat, making the CMXV18AVJUA a viable solution for all-electric residential systems in mild to moderate heating climates.
